Ballymacart

Located on the west side of the Ballymacart stream, this conglomerate measures 1.5m in height and is 0.6 X 0.35 X 0.55 metres. It is roughly oriented in a ENE- WSW direction.

A few hundred metres further south up the slope is an old ruined castle, the history of  which remains unknown even to those living in the locality.

Directions: From Dungarvan take the N25 towards Cork. At Kiely’s Crossroads, which is at  about 14km, take the R673 signposted for Ardmore. At the first crossroads which is at 1.25 km, turn left. Follow this road through two crossroads and then veer right at a fork in the road. About 1 km further on this road you will come to gate on the right side where the stone is visible on the slope to the left.
