Glenpatrick

On the summit of the Shauneenabreaga mountain this cairn has a windbreak and a pyramid of stones built on top of it.

The cairn, which is known locally as one of the "seven sisters" (a series of rocky peaks in the area) measures 11 metres in diameter. From the summit at 547 metres ( 1794 feet),  the views are really commanding, and on a clear day are said to take in six of the surrounding counties with the most notable feature of the region , the rising mass of Slivenamon mountain in County Tipperary away to the north east.

Directions: From the village of Rathgormuck travel on the R678 towards Clonmel. After 6 km where the road bends to the left and then to the right, veer off the main road onto a small road to the left. Drive up here 0.5km and park past a cattle grid on the road. Walk on up to where the hedges open. From here you can see the summit away to the left which is a steady climb of about 2km.
