Islandikane North

Looking somewhat reminiscent of the steep incline of some challenging mountain peak, this sturdy standing stone measures 1.95 metres in height and 1.45 metres at its widest point. It stands clearly visible on a broad plateau in the centre of a field and has a shoulder close to its pointed tip which is  This shape is possibly the result of damage incurred.

The stone doesn’t have any definite orientation.

 

Directions: From Tramore  take the R675 towards Fenor. At 5km turn left at the second crossroads and then immediately right up a narrow road. Almost 1km up this road park at a gate on the right and cross one field to the west. From here the stone is visible in the field beyond.
