Kilbryan standing stone

Located just one field away to the SW of the Kilbryan Stone pair, this old red sandstone monolith stands just short of a metre in height.

Its dimensions are 0.95 meters in height X 0.8 X 0.55 meters.

What association, if any, it has with the Stone Pair is unclear. It has no discernible orientation.

Directions: The easiest way of getting to this site is if you are visiting the standing stone and cairns at Treenearla Commons (at the top of the Mauma Pass) which is roughly 4 km away by road.

From the car park at the Commons continue the descent NW towards Kilbryan village. After 3 km and where the road is signposted left for Kilbryan take a right turn. Follow this small road for about 1 km. Where the road levels out there is a gate through which you will see the Kilbryan Stone Pair on the left. One field further away to the SW is the standing stone. Do ask permission from the landowner who lives in a mobile home just a little further down on the right.
