Exploring Waterford's Ancient Monuments

Pointed Stone

Pointed Stone

"This unusual pointed stone I came across not far from Ardmore cathedral and Round Tower. I seems to be part of the bank and is probably about 1 metre in height above the top of the field boundary".

"The stone is white limestone which gives it a brilliant white appearance, specially when the sun shines on it". "Whether it represents an authentic standing stone is open to debate".
