Seefin - Cairn

Situated on the summit of Seefin mountain and 60 metres SE of a rock outcrop, this is one of Waterford’s highest Cairns which is located at an altitude of 726 metres (2382 feet).

The Cairn itself is 8 metres in diameter and 0.4 metres in height. It has a deeply hollowed out centre. The site affords outstanding views all around and from here one can see and fully appreciate the full extent of the Comeragh mountain range as it straddles across the centre of county Waterford from Knockanaffrin in the north to Croghan in the south.

The walk up here is certainly well worth it.

Directions: See Coumaraglinmountain – the “Stone Man”. From here it’s a steep climb of 1.5 km northwards to the summit of Seefin.
